10 Amazon Must Haves for the Primary Classroom

I love Amazon! I mean who doesn’t love the ease of having something you need shipped to you overnight!

I am always checking out Amazon for awesome classroom finds that will make teaching easier and most importantly, keep me organized!

With Amazon Prime Day just around the corner, here are 10 things from Amazon that I could not live without in my classroom:

1. A Personal Laminator

Hands down, a personal laminator is by far one of my favorite items that I have ever purchased. My scotch laminator has laminated well over 2,000 pages and is still running strong.

Having your own personal laminator will save you the trouble of having to run to your school office every time you need to laminate something.

It can also save you a lot of “cutting time” if you are laminating 8.5X11  papers or projects.

2. Mesh Zipper Pouches

These are durable, easy to open, and can be used in so many ways!

They are great for organizing center activities, math toolkits, language toolkits, small group materials, task cards, and more.

You can also use them to organize your supplies and curriculum items.

Anytime I need a nice, easy way to store items, these are my go-to storage choice and they are a great size!

3. Dry Erase Pockets

Dry erase pockets are amazing! I love having one for every student in my class.  I personally use these in small groups and for a daily morning check-in.

With these dry-erase pockets, students can practice spelling, adding, place value, and really anything you want them to practice.

The best part about dry erase pockets is that they will save you time and paper.

4. An Electric Pencil Sharpener

Okay, I have to tell you an embarrassing story…

My first year of teaching I would go to the office to sharpen pencils once a week, but when we ran out of sharp pencils in the middle of the day, I would use a hand held sharpener to sharpen student pencils!

I have no idea what I was thinking!

Make your life easier and buy an electric sharpener! You will not regret it!

I have had this sharpener for 3 years and it has definitely been worth the money that I spent on it.

5. A Wireless Doorbell

These are a fantastic attention grabber for little learners!

The best part… you can clip it to a lanyard and wear it around the classroom.

There is nothing better than having a tool with you at all times that makes it easy to grab your students’ attention!

6. Astrobright Paper

I will admit, I use Astrobright paper way more than a normal person.

Astrobright paper is great for making activities and posters colorful, but let me tell you my favorite way to use it.

You can use astrobright paper to copy all of those important letters or information sheets that you send home with your students.

There is nothing quite like a super bright paper to say, “Look at me! Please read me!” to your students’ parents and guardians.

7. Sit Spot Markers

If you have carpet or a rug in your classroom, these are a life saver!

These will provide you with such a simple way to teach your students where to sit.

They can also be used for line-up spots, as desk markers, and you can even place them around the room for the times you need to spread out your students for an assessment or indpendent work.

8. Hand2Mind Sensory Tubes

I am a huge fan of having a calm corner in the classroom.

A calm corner is a great way to provide your students with a special place to take a break when they are overwhelmed with big emotions.

These sensory tubes are a great calming tool and a student favorite!

9. Learning Resource Linking Cubes

If you are a primary teacher, you know just how important and helpful math manipulatives can be… especially linking (counting) cubes

These cubes provide little learners with a hands on understanding of counting, adding, and subtracting.

Some curriculum programs may provide these, but if they do not, these are a must have item that you need in Kindergarten and First Grade!

10. Over the Door Shoe Organizer

A shoe organizer? For the classrom?

Absolutely!

They can be used in so many ways!

I personally use these shoe organizers for my prize wall, but you can use them to hang headphones, organize extra crayons or markers, organize your supplies, and more!
